Spider Wolf

Spider Wolf

The Wolf Spider is very common here in Southwest Florida and is usually found outside on the ground, where it is well camouflaged. These large hairy running spiders are often confused with tarantulas. The Wolf Spider is identified by its bottom row of eyes consisting of four small eyes of equal size. The top row of eyes is curved backward with the center 2 eyes larger in size. This scary looking spider can grow up to 1 to 1 ½ inches of body length with a leg span up to 3 to 4 inches.

The Wolf Spider is a hunting spider and constructs no webs. They are commonly found outside but will invade your home looking for a food source. They could be seen running across your floor, crawling up your walls, or even just standing in a corner attached to your ceiling.
